Miscellaneous Fees

To pay a fee electronically contact the Clerk’s Office to request a link for payment via ERequests@nynd.uscourts.gov or call one of the offices. Please note the following fees are required to be paid in the filing event in CM/ECF using Pay.gov:

  • New case filing fee
  • Miscellaneous file fee
  • Appeal fees
  • Request for Certificate of Good Standing
  • Biennial registration fee

*Pro se litigants are not required to pay via CM/ECF, but they can request a link from the Clerk’s office to pay electronically

Victim Payments

If you would prefer to receive an EFT instead of a Treasury check, please email your name and mailing address to Finance_EFT@nynd.uscourts.gov, and we will mail you a packet. Please note that payments to an Estate or deceased person can only be paid by U.S. Treasury Check.

Individual disbursements of restitution totaling $500,000 or more must be made via EFT or Fedwire.

Victims' Unclaimed Funds Project

The Northern District of New York is in the process of making a concerted effort to locate the victims on behalf of whom the Court has collected restitution payments but not yet disbursed. If you are the victim of a crime for which restitution has been ordered by a Judge in the Northern District of New York; have not received restitution payment in full; and the Court does not have your current contact information, please send an e-mail to the Court’s Finance Department at Finance_Restitution@nynd.uscourts.gov, include your name, address, email address, phone number, the Defendant’s name, and the case number (if known). Upon verification of unclaimed funds in the correct criminal case, the Finance Department will request proper documentation from you via email. The Court is not allowed to post any information regarding a victim or a defendant on our website. If you are looking for information about your restitution, please contact the U.S. Attorney’s Office Victim Witness Assistance Unit toll free at 1 (888) 539-4535 or email them at USANYN.VWU@usdoj.gov.


Did You Receive a Letter From the Court?

In an attempt to locate victims entitled to unpaid restitution payments, the Court may send you a letter seeking updated contact information to verify your identity and current address. Please return the form attached to the letter to our office located at 100 South Clinton Street, Syracuse, NY 13202 or email it to Finance_Restitution@nynd.uscourts.gov to serve as proof that you are the victim listed in the Criminal Judgment and that you were previously residing at the address listed in the restitution Order. Do not send your contact information anywhere other than the address or email address listed in the letter. Please note that victims are responsible for notifying the U.S. Attorney’s Office Victim Witness Assistance Unit of any change of address and phone number in order to receive prompt payment of restitution payments received by the Court.
