Effective Friday, December 1, 2023, changes to Court Fees in Rates which includes the Administrative Fee of $55 due for filing a civil action, suit, or proceeding in a district court. The fees were adjusted to account for inflation. The $55 administrative fee is in addition to the fee for filing a civil case ($350.00). The administrative fee does not apply to applications for writ of habeas corpus or to persons granted in forma pauperis status under 28 U.S.C. § 1915. The total cost for filing a civil action, suit, or proceeding in the district court on or after Dec 1st, 2020 2023 will be $405.00 - broken out as follows - $350.00 filing fee plus a $55.00 administrative fee.
