Effective Wednesday, May 1, 2013, there is an Administrative Fee of $50 due for filing a civil action, suit, or proceeding in a district court. This fee is in addition to the fee for filing a civil case ($350.00). The administrative fee does not apply to applications for writ of habeas corpus or to persons granted in forma pauperis status under 28 U.S.C. § 1915. The total cost for filing a civil action, suit, or proceeding in the district court on or after May 1st, 2013 will be $400.00 - broken out as follows - $350.00 filing fee plus a $50.00 administrative fee.
