We have received reports of an individual purporting to be from the U.S. District Court demanding the recipient of the call to send money to the individual or face

the threat of incarceration.  The caller often identifies himself as 'Shawn White' and the phone number for caller identification purposes is listed as 518-557-3412. 

Please be aware that there is no NDNY Court employee named 'Shawn White' and the Court does not maintain a 518-557-3412 phone number.  Furthermore, no

individual from the United States District Court would ever call members of the public to advise them to pay fines, restitution, or any other debt over the phone. 

Any communication concerning financial liability to the Court would be communicated in writing and would be pursuant to an Order of the Court.  The

communication would also list the appropriate staff at the Court where a member of the public could call or to visit our offices for further information. We have

submitted these reports to federal law enforcement agencies for review and investigation.  Additional information regarding these calls can be found at
