Judge David R. Homer
David R. Homer is a United States Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of New York. Judge Homer earned his B.A. degree from Brown University in 1969 and his J.D. degree cum laude from Syracuse University, where he was an editor of the Syracuse Law Review, in 1975. He joined the Criminal Division of the United States Department of Justice in Washington, DC in 1975 as a trial attorney, remaining there until 1979, when he became an Assistant United States Attorney for the Albany office of the Northern District of New York. In 1982 he was appointed Supervisor-in-Charge of the Albany office, and in 1992 he was chosen to head the Criminal Division there, a post at which he remained until his judicial appointment in 1995.
